For each of us, one sense is stronger than the others -- we respond to it easily. For example, one person loves music, so Hearing is dominant; someone else loves paintings, their special sense is Vision; another always picks up the smells in a place, so their strength is in Scent.

If we have the sense to recognize it, we can always find what is beautiful and harmonious in our world -- but in this big, busy, senseless world, we sometimes lose the natural sense of ourselves. Each one of us contains a small world, which mirrors and balances the larger world outside.

Small World Hawai'i is a place to come to your senses, a modest little store where you may find a small object or gift that calls you to balance, to silence, to stillness.

We have collected small, beautiful items at a reasonable price, and have created several signature sets of products, working with artists based in the Islands. Here you'll find Oceans in Glass arts; natural soaps and fragrances from Soap Cellar; small original framed photographs from Malousions, each piece signed; peaceful music; gem collectables, and much more.

Wen Yu, a classically-trained Chinese artist, is available most days to paint a custom Chinese character with a black brush on rice paper for you, with a word or feeling of your choice.
